Abstract

The Intelligent Alarm Processor lets operators locate network faults, analyze fault types, and detect malfunctions in the protection system. To achieve these functions in a reasonable response time, the expert system uses hierarchic diagnosis levels, heuristic rules, and compiled qualitative models.
