Integrating Model-Based and Heuristic Features in a Realtime
Expert System for Power Distribution Networks

Abstract
The Intelligent Alarm Processor lets operators locate network faults,
analyze fault types, and detect malfunctions in the protection system.
To achieve these functions in a reasonable response time, the expert
system uses hierarchic diagnosis levels, heuristic rules, and compiled
qualitative models.
