KBS Current Projects

The KBS Virtual Classroom Project

Overview

This project seeks to develop and employ top level Internet/WWW support for academic and other courses.  Our publications on one hand describe the experiences made with using Internet/WWW technologies for our courses, further concepts and systems we are developing, and specific issues like adaptive hyperbooks, configuration management etc. needed for these applications. Current work and projects in this area in Germany and worldwide are discussed in a technical report on this topic. For an overview, see our KBS Virtual Classroom Slide Show, a tour of our Virtual Classrooms, or an high level overview of the project

This project is partly sponsored by the "Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kultur Niedersachsen, Projektbereich Multimedia und Telematik in Studium, Lehre und Weiterbildung" within the Virtual Campus Project (see also our Virtual Campus Page), cooperating partners are institutes from the universities of Osnabrück and Hildesheim and the ZFW Hildesheim. The project is part of the innovation initiative Educational Technology at the University of Hannover.

Another cooperation in the area of teleteaching (within the course Introduction to Programming) is with the TU-Dresden (in the context of a Online Seminar on Programming).

We are actively exploring new opportunities in teleteaching. If you are not a student at the University of Hanover, but are nevertheless interested in any of our courses and want to participate, please call us for further details.
