KI-Journal: Special Issue on "Adaptivity and User Modeling"
 
 
 
 
 

Ideally, adaptive software systems should appear to be designed and implemented for each user individually: Personal preferences should as much be taken into account as the actual situation or the knowledge of a user.

These "personal factors" are unstable and change over time. Thus techniques are required that monitor a user's interaction with the system, analyze and interpret these observations within an appropriate model, and translate the conclusions into instructions for the adaptation of the system.

The special issue "Adaptivity and User Modeling" is dedicated to give an overview on the present state of research, development and implementations of adaptive software systems.

Contributions to all aspects of the theme "Adaptivity and User Modeling" are welcome. Particular interests:

Special Issue on "Adaptivity and User Modeling", KI-Journal, to appear as Vol. 3, 2002.

Important Dates: Submissions due : November 15, 2001. Notification of authors : December 31, 2001. Final Version: February 15, 2002.
